If you have an old carpet don’t throw it away, reuse it and make a beautiful addition to your bathroom. This DIY project is easy but unique, low cost and most importantly beautiful. This type of bathroom carpet you can’t buy in your local store and all it takes is a little effort.
All you need for this project is:
1. old carpet
2. nice round cobbles
3. super glue
4. utility knife
Before starting with this project we reccomend that you go to the beach and pick the cobbles that suits you. Best are flat round cobbles because they are most comfortable for walking on them. If you don’t live near the beach you can pick the cobbles from gravel or buy preselected white cobbles which are used for garden decorating. Use sandpaper to polish the stones and remove al the dirt. After that use the utility knife to cut the old carpet to a shape that you wish. The next step must be done outside or in a room with open windows because the fumes from the glue are toxic. Always start from the middle and then work evenly around. Spread some glue in the middle and then put a small amount of glue on every cobble you put on. Always apply the glue as in the picture below. When you put the last stone on leave it to dry for at least 12 hours before putting it to use.
